1. Who we are

Ondim Pty Ltd operates Ondim. For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), we are the "responsible party" for personal information processed through the service. Our Information Officer can be reached at info@ondim.co.za.

2. Information we collect

Account information: name, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
Location information: approximate or precise location when you report an incident, run a check-in, or view local alerts — only while you choose to share it.
Check-in contacts: names and contact details of people you nominate to be notified during a check-in.
User content: incident reports, comments, and area ratings you submit.
Payment information: for paid tiers, payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor — Ondim does not store your card or banking details.

3. Why we process your information (POPIA legal basis)

We process personal information based on your consent, to perform our contract with you (providing the service), and where necessary for our legitimate interests (such as preventing abuse of the platform). You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

4. How we use your information

To operate core features: alerts, check-ins, watch-group tools, and ratings.
To notify your nominated contacts if you do not check in on time.
To moderate content and prevent misuse.
To send service updates and, where you've opted in, marketing/launch updates.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share limited information with service providers who help us run the platform (hosting, payment processing, email delivery) under confidentiality obligations, your nominated check-in contacts, and authorities only where required by law.

6. Your rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your information, object to direct marketing at any time, and lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator. Contact info@ondim.co.za to exercise any of these rights.

7. Security & retention

We apply reasonable technical and organisational security measures and retain personal information only as long as necessary.

8. Data breach notification

In the event of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify the Information Regulator and affected users as required by POPIA.

9. Children's privacy

Ondim is not intended for children under 18 without parental/guardian consent.
